For those that don't know, the PSP core was dropped from $199 to $169 this week. My question is, how do you think this will affect the handheld war between Nintendo and Sony. I really don't think this will affect DS sales.

I think that it will affect the Nintendo DS sales big, but not to much, because if you plan on getting the PSP, you must get a memory stick.. I have a two gig one and thats not enough, i want to get the 8 gb one.

I think more people are going to go for the PSP now, because it does so much more than the DS.

If I would have to choose between a PSP and DS I would go for the PSP for sure.

yeah, well it does do many other things, but the it is still way more than the DS, the memory stick is what costs alot of money, if you get luckey you can get one off from ebay for cheap, only because they are prolly stollin memory stick, but back to topic, If you have planiing on getting a psp, don't think that the price drop is going to affect you buying it or not, because if you want to have music, picture, videos, ect, you will need a good size memory stick.(2, 4gb) Or it is just a gaming machine, not a media machine.

I don't think the price change is going to have that affect. It's going to be minimal, most likely. You still need to go out and buy a memory stick to save your games, not to mention the games still cost more than DS games for the most part. Where as with the DS, you don't need to go out and buy anything to save your games on, and the DS has better games.

I though that the psp was expossed to go down to 149.99? What happined? It was supposed to happin by last XMas.

I never heard anything about it dropping to $149.99.

It might have been one of those predictions from analysts. They seem to turn out a new report every week. Most of the time they're bad.
