Yeah, school shootings are solely because of Doom and Marilyn Manson, and not because of school's lack of effort put into stopping bullying, among other things, at all.

You are. You shouldn't even have to ask. But these are the things that professionals blame for Columbine. Those kids were tormented by the "jocks" and they happened to like darker music and video games like Doom. All of a sudden those things are what put it into their minds to do this, and those people like Rammstein and Marylin Manson are being sued for it. Music and games could have given them some ideas, but the depression in their minds that abolished all feelings of remorse or fear of the consequences and the torment they went through daily were the reasons why they did what they did. They really just didn't care that they were killing people and themselves. What the hell thread is this, anyway? Oh, GTA IV, so this is relevant.

So, you have the desire to kill. Now GTA gives you the idea to park your car on the side of a street filled with pedestrians and blow it up. Why did that happen? Because you had the desire to kill people. If there was no GTA, maybe you might have just gone on a shooting rampage or knifed a bunch of people at random.

your right... poeple are not looking at the true cause of the thing... its the being bullied that causes these people to do this stuff.. yet time and time agian media pushes that it was movies tv video games etc that cause it. what is it going to take a suicide not that says i did this because i was bullied for it to get corrected?

they had remorse for what they did these kids are probably more normal than the bullies that picked on them... if they didn't have remorse they wouldn't have killed themselves at the end, cause they wouldn't have thought they did anything wrong without remorse.

Well, they were bipolar or depressed in some medical way. I know someone (if you read this, hi!) who also has some form of depression and is getting treated for it. That's how he described it. He understood the Columbine kids, basically. They probably killed themselves after because that was their plan: to take all those bullies with them, not just to kill the bullies and go to jail for it, which might have been worse.

hrm.. i have depression, and im on my way to be treated for it several appointments in the works... i somehow just don't agree...

There are different types and levels of severity, and I'm sure the bullying didn't help. Maybe they did care, but went through with it all anyway, and because of that, everyone is on edge when it comes to kids and video games/music.

the focus should be on the bullies and not video games/music.

Bulling has been around forever. I wouldn't pass the buck to that as the say all end all of reasons why kids snap. I think we've created a bunch of pussies out of our children, who now suppress all their anger and embarrassment until they finally blow up and do something radical.

Parents are fucking insane with how much they baby their children now a days, because everyone is living with a fear of life.
