My mother watches the news all friggin day and she's a fuckin walking television set. She told me today that john tesh said "don't use cell phones as much because you can get cancer and if you keep it in your pocket long enough you may become sterile because of the radio waves". That kinda stuff makes me sick, when a lot of people listen to this they get all freaked out because they want to be as healthy as they can get and they want to live to be 100 years old. If your going to worry about dying from talking on your cell phone too much because you may get brain cancer, may god have mercy on your soul. You have more of a chance to die from a freakin lightning bolt hitting you, jesus...

That's so true. The power lines that are allowing you to type on your computer are killing you. The pollution in the air is killing you. Preservative and chemicals in food are killing you. Motor vehicle accidents occur everyday. You know what else happens everyday? Murder. Robbery. Etc. So my question, like yours, is why do we worry about cell phone radiation? The effects, even if they are harmful, are so minimal... ![]() We wish to pursue the truth no matter where it leads. But to find the truth, we need imagination and skepticism both. Exactly my friend, exactly. Everything we do in life can kill you sooner or later. Like with me, lifting weights too much has side effects in the long run, even eating too much protein can give you protein poisoning. If you do anything in excess it pretty much harms you later on. Sometimes the air where i live ( in the valley where all the pollution gets pocketed ) its like breathing in a damn cigarette. All these people are trying to make their lives perfect and live forever and shit. I think people are just afraid of death, i aint

People are very much so afraid of death. The goal of humanity is to survive. Yet, we keep doing things each day that are counteracting that goal. We don't want to admit it, so we find comfort in blaming things such as cell phone radiation. Each cigarette takes approximately 11 minutes off of your life. Yet, you'll find a smoker say that the power lines above her house are giving her cancer. Better yet, exercising for 1 hour adds 2 to your life - how many people don't exercise? How many people are severely overweight? ![]() We wish to pursue the truth no matter where it leads. But to find the truth, we need imagination and skepticism both. Agreed kovich. I can relate fear of death with politics. I think a big reason why people support mccain is because they don't feel safe with obama because of pulling out of iraq and for some reason they think just because were back in the US al qaeda can bomb us again so they feel safe with mccain. It's that fear issue of getting attacked again that leaves so many people scared and leaves mccain instilling fear into people when he gives speeches basically saying. If you dont elect me we will have another terrorist attack.

Typical politician. You have to give him credit though - it is a smart move. Playing on people's fears is the most effective way to gain their support. Make yourself appear as the only possible solution, the only possible savior - and you're immediately perfection. ![]() We wish to pursue the truth no matter where it leads. Exactly. Well we get what we deserve. An ignorant citizen is the government's greatest friend.

Absolutely. Just read 1984 and Anthem. Ignorance is the friend of anyone who wants control. ![]() We wish to pursue the truth no matter where it leads.
