I don't celebrate Valentine's day. I dislike the fact that it has been made by the "industries" because they needed a holiday to make more money between Christmas and Easter. There shouldn't be one day per year to show your love to your friend/lover, it should be a little bit everyday (or once in a while, I don't know).

If I were to celebrate Valentine's day, I'd be original, I would come up with something (not necessarily something that I'd buy like, a red rose or heart-sized chocolate box) original that represent somehow the love I have for her. I hate stereotypes and I dislike when unoriginal person just google search : "Poems for Valentine's day" to find what they'll write on their Valentine's lover card or whatever.

Though that said, I respect everybody who does celebrate it (yep, I do)

(Nah, I'm not a hater because I'm single, I wasn't celebrating it even when I was in a relationship)

I think not celebrating it in a relationship is suicide, haha.

I agree with your sentiments though. The only thing is, Christmas is a money grab, Easter is a money grab, Thanksgiving is a money grab, etc. Everything's a money grab because the system is a money grab by default. I feel the same way about it as I feel Christmas (since hat's the big one in my eyes), use it to spend time with the ones you love. It's a consumer Holiday for the most part, unfortunately, but you know, it can be fun even from a consumer aspect.

Which is totally hypocritical for me to say given my beliefs I've spewed all over the place but meh, it's nice to give people things.

It wasn't suicide for me, haha! She wanted to celebrate it, but I convinced her not to do it and...well...she couldn't argue with it so she gave up :P LoL xD

Haha but that's the thing my good man, if she wanted to celebrate it then she still wanted to. It's little things like that that keep a relationship strong. Should have bit the bullet and just celebrated it.

Hahah. We did, somehow, celebrate it but it wasn't "valentine's day celebration". Not giving too much details, but I had a nice breakfast the day after (just to follow with Ash's post, hahah) ^^
