Thumbs down Two days so far

I have had a bad headache that hasn't gone away, it started around like 12:00 in the after noon yesterday, and I still have it at the moment. It also hurts alot worse when I sit down or stand up and then start to walk around. Does anyone know anything I should do?

I have a lot of experience with headaches (I suffer from severe and frequent headaches). In fact, I'm going to see a neurologist this month.

I can try to help you out with my experience. Where exactly does it hurt? What kind of pain is it (dull, throbbing, radiating, sharp, etc.)? Does it hurt worse with activity, light, or sound? Does it wake you up at night? Do you wake up with it in the morning? Does it get worse throughout the day? Do you have a history of headaches or does someone in your family?

If it continues, you will need to see your general physician to get a referral to get a CT scan. If they don't see any issues there, the next step is to see a neurologist who may have you get a MRI done.

Hope that helps.

Well it hurts like all over. There's sharp pain when I get up or like move around a lot (like to go down stairs ) and also when I get up or down I get blurred vision. It is tolerable though when I'm sitting still (or laying down) but as soon as I get up it hurts really bad, like a really sharp pain. I never really get head aches but since yesterday this was the worse/long/painful head ache that I have had ever. It didn't make me wake up or anything, but when I got up this morning to take a shower, it hurt really bad. Head aches don't run in my family as far as I know either. Could it because of a neck problem? If thats the case, thats probably it, because my neck hurts bad as well. My Mom said that its because of allergies I don't think thats the case though, considering I'm not congested or anything.

That's not allergies. The allergy headaches do not have symptoms like that. That sounds a little more serious (the sharp pain with movement). You are going to want to get that checked out ASAP.

Did you have any recent injuries?

No not that I can think of. What do you think it could be?

The blurred vision indicates that it could be migraines. Migraines usually develop in adolescent years then progressively decrease as you get older.

The more concerning thing is the sharp pain when you get up. Do you ever feel light-headed?

Yeah, madder a fact I do right now. It kinda feels like I'm tired, but in which I'm not. I took a couple Tylenol and the sharp pain has gone away (for now it will most likely come back) But I indeed feel light headed and almost like dizzy, because before when I got the sharp pains when getting up and what not I felt dizzy.

You need to see a doctor tomorrow. This is potentially very serious.

Instead of Tylenol, you should take Advil or Aleve. Advil and Aleve are both anti-inflammatory medications and will work better in your situation.

No, you'll need to see a doctor for that. But I do know that the sharp pain and lightheadedness could be something serious. This isn't a normal headache by any means, so please see a doctor ASAP.

Good luck.
