This is a discussion on PTF City within the Chit Chat forums, part of the General Chat category; I doubt it uses a mac address. Besides, if it used a mac address, it would be reading the address ...

I doubt it uses a mac address. Besides, if it used a mac address, it would be reading the address of my router, so it wouldn't matter what computer I use on my network.

I think it's IP address. To my surprise, the site does not have a privacy policy listing the info they collect. Anyway...you're welcome to use my proxy http://www.unblockitfast.com and other proxies to increase the population of the city!

i never said they were using mac address i said hash was similar to a mac address as in every computers hash is different.

Ha. I thought you knew what cookies were. From what I recall you have some decent knowledge about computers... figured cookies would be pretty basic to you.

hey aj is there not a way we could have a link on the main page to the ptf mini city links... maybe something that would pop a window up much like the pictures? just a small window to show the city that would put towards the count on the population and industry... im wanting to say you could do a iframe but its been so long since i've done anything html or otherwise.... but i think it'd be cool if you click the link and it popped up like some of the pictures do when you click on them.

I really love this idea - we need to make the PTF City more popular.

We should also keep our eyes open for similar programs as well as games that will allow us to make a "clan" so that all of the members of PureTalkForum.com can work together to own all of the other players in the game.
