i been looking at some web hosting packages looks cheap enough 5.95 a month with free domain name.... SMF is a few forum php software, that looks to be okay, vbulletin is like 100 bucks a year... or 240 for a lifetime i think. i'll keep doing some research on the subject. and i gotta come up with a name that catchy like PTF... haha.

One day I think I'll make my own, too, but getting more than a few members is tough. Actually, I know people who have the means of hosting their own sites (like Trevor1337). I'm also pretty sure I gave Lunchbox an old '95 or '98 so he could make a server out of it or some damn thing.

i've done something similar, i put my old tower next to the tv and hooked it up and i use it to store family videos and photos, and i also put movies i download onto it so i can watch them without burning... so i dont have to waste dvds. i've also got a ftp server setup on that machine so that i can access it from anywhere i go, so i keep alot of my own files on there incase i ever need something while im out.
