Okay so 3 movies over the couple days. First off we have
Doomsday, from Neil Marshall who made The Descent which I thought was pretty good. He also made Dog Soldiers which I haven't gotten around to seeing yet. So what is this movie? Well it's a good time first and foremost. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where some virus has ravaged the land and there's an inside "civilized" society and an outside society full of crazy people, y'know. They throw homage after homage at you and do some pretty ridiculous things in the vein of Shoot 'Em Up. This is an over the top action movie through and through but there was obviously some work put into it. I mean, it had crazy punks and knights so it entertained me and that's what these movies go for, but I won't be seeing it again. Watch it but don't expect anything realistic at all because, well, that's not the point at all.
7/10, better than average (5) but not especially great. Preferred Shoot 'Em Up.
Then there was
The Corporation. A documentary about corporations and how legally they're people. It's very good and goes into detail about how sneaky these companies are. Since I can't remember all the peoples names, wikipedia says:
I mean, this movie was preaching to the choir for me and I knew I'd love it as soon as I saw it. I read the criticisms on wikipedia and I laughed, because one critic said that it made the communist party look bad while pushing a more anarchist point of view. So we have someone criticizing the movie because it didn't make THEIR party look good. Documentaries should be somewhat even handed but not completely. I mean, it's illogical to assume that anybody who has any beliefs can make a completely unbiased film. And this film does give other sides a chance to talk and the part with the CEO of, I think, Shell was really cool.

A torrent of the movie but
RELAX AJ! The producer/co-director released this himself because he's proud that it's getting around but he also encourages people to either buy the movie or donate some money, so please do that if you like the film.
9/10
And the last movie was a movie I watched just to get out of the house.
Never Back Down... a movie where a bunch of good looking "teenagers" beat up on each other and try to tell us that fighting is bad... or maybe fighting ISN'T bad? Who knows? The movie's a mess. Music that was only put there because it was aggressive (though it played some songs I like), an attempt at an emotional payoff at the end that doesn't really make much sense in context of the rest of the film. Though I'm sure someone would argue that. This movie WAS entertaining, but take that with a truck of salt because most movies entertain me on some level even if they're horrible. Every cliche is thrown at you in here, and it even has an exchange that basically goes like this... don't worry, it's early in the movie, it's really not a big deal anyways...
[Main character walks into party, is doing whatever, the best fighter in the town confronts him after a while, blah blah]
Best Fighter: You wanna be the best, then you gotta beat the best.
Main Character: But I don't want to be the best.
WHERE DID THAT COME FROM??? I thought I missed a line or two before but apparently I did not.
So! Final verdict IS! 3.5/10. Tons better than National Treasure (which I gave a 2 on Kill-Talk), but not really close to being average... a 4 seemed too high. So hence, favourite movie of the year.
