And so right before bed I watch White Chicks, something that was meant to be easy and at least somewhat funny. Well, the beginning was the best in terms of laughs, and the movie has some soul, but I can't recommend this. I didn't find most of it funny and well, that's a problem when it's a comedy. I wouldn't completely shit all over this but I know the Wayans can do better (the first 40 mins of Don't Be A Menace To Society While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood for example).

I didn't like the movie, but it didn't bore the shit out of me either (which, honestly, very few movies I've seen have done), so that's why it's merely a movie I can't recommend instead of a reoccurring nightmare like National Treasure 2.

A Se7en re-watch. Morgan Freeman was made for this role so enough about that. Brad Pitt has been solid in every movie I've seen him in, even if the movie sucked. In fact, Brad Pitt is one of my favourite actors, and he shows why in this movie.

David Fincher is a really stylish director who doesn't get as much credit as he should. He has crafted an amazing neo-noir film, where the basic plot is that there's a killer who's killing people based around the seven deadly sins. But there's more to it than that, because it's just as much about the relationship between Pitt and Freeman and their growth as people.

Like I said, Fincher is very stylish and this just oozes style, from the beginning credits to the atmosphere, to the chilling ending, which is possibly one of the greatest endings ever.

The movie raises some important moral questions as well, about the nature of people and the jobs they take and the seven deadly sins themselves.

This is the third time I saw it and I still had a feeling of dread in my stomach during the finale. Love this movie.

I watched Dan In Real Life yesterday. Not the movie I thought it would be at all. I'd avoided it because it just looked weird but it was fantastic! The second half was marred by the excruciating pain in my leg but it was still very good.

Yeah, Katy wants me to download that movie so we can watch it, but I'm kind of at my download limit and I don't know when I get it all back. I didn't know there was a limit here...

So, what have I seen recently? Uh.
I re-watched Monster with my lover and it really is a good portrait of a serial killer, showing her internal and external struggles, her motivation, her life.

I know a lot has been said about Charlize Theron's performance. She completely transformed herself for her role. It's self destructive and the best actors have been self destructive. So top notch acting.

And last night I watched Lilo & Stitch. I'm actually not that experienced when it comes to animated movies, as I haven't seen that many since I was a kid.

Ebert says it better than me:
It's one of the most charming feature-length cartoons of recent years--funny, sassy, startling, original and with six songs by Elvis. It doesn't get sickeningly sweet at the end, it has as much stuff in it for grown-ups as for kids, and it has a bright offbeat look to it.

I also found it to be really touching throughout the movie, watching Stitch's transformation.

It's so good. I'm not real knowledgeable when it comes to animated films, like I said, most of them I watched when I was a kid.

But Lilo & Stitch is a movie for kids that is smart enough to be for adults. The animation is minimalist and it has some funny parodies/homages to movies like Godzilla or Jaws.

I need some new films to watch guys and gals.

Can anyone tell me if Alien VS Preditor two is any good? I might get it. Number one was okay.

Haha why would I say it's awesome?
I haven't seen the second. Didn't really like the first one that much either.

I just watched the new Harold and Kumar. It was good. I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall recently as well and it was funnier. It's disappointing because I loved the first H&K so much and this new one was lacking, except it had some great laughs like "FUCK YOU, DONUTS ARE AWESOME."
