Default V for Vendetta

Okay, where to start?

I haven't watched the movie in a little while so my memory of it isn't what it could be. So maybe I'll just ask questions.

What's the meaning of the movie or what are the main issues tackled? What's up with the ending?
And of course talk about why you like or dislike it.

i saw it...it was ok, not much to say about it, except the ending was sort of a surprise. But there was one thing i always wondered, was the whole gunpowder thing with guy fox a real thing?

I think it was. I'd have to look it up, but I'll post again when I find out. Anyway, I thought the meaning had to do with individual thinking and rebellion. The British government was trying to keep the public down, controlling them too strictly. Those caught after curfew were arrested. The leader (I don't know what one calls the British leader, and it's NOT king) even created a bioweapon to kill hundreds of thousands to show how much the public needed a strong governmnet to step in and help. The man whose blood help make the bioweapon, by the name of V, then reminds the public of how terrible their government is, and that they should help him overturn it the next anniversery of the gunpowder treason. He helped them all to realize that they could think as individuals, and that a government's power relies on the public obeying it. And dispite their best efforts, the people rejected thier government and followed V to freedom. It also goes into strength of mind and the surpression of fear. At the end, you discover that the people were following not really a man, but an idea. The concept of freedom.
I liked it even though it was pretty difficult to take it all in at once. However, it is similar to The Matrix trilogy in this way. Both the trilogy and V for Vendetta were made by the Wachowski brothers, and both represent similar ideas and values.

Lol I saw this coming! And GA, its nothing if you dont get the meaning of the movie, trust me, I did the same thing. I first watched the movie in the summer (meaning all logic and deep thinking were out the window) after watching Saw 2. I expected V to run around and slice n' stab people with his daggers, but I was bored outta my mind. Last night, I was in a better state of mind, so I got the meaning of the "oppression from government" idea they were throwing out.
