Default Transformers The Movie (Live Action) Discussion Thread

Is anybody looking forward to seeing this movie? It comes out July 4, 2007. I know I'm looking forward to the movie. I'll probably see it the first day it's in theaters. The voice of the original Optimus Prime from the cartoon series will voice Optimus int he movie. Hugo Weaving will voice Megatron. If your unfamiliar with Hugo Weaving, he was the voice of V in V for Vendetta, Agent Smith (I think that's the agent's name) in the Matrix, and he was also in Lord of the Rings. Funny thing is the the person that voiced Megatron in the original show is going to voice Megatron in the videogame.

The movie comes out next week. July 3rd is the first official day it's out, not counting the midnight showings on Monday. Whose planning on seeing this movie next week? I know I am.

I saw it yesterday, everyone! It was awesome. Well, as a transformer-watching-and knowing boy, i loved it. It was WICKED. 9/10 in my book. Watch the movie and think about some stuff, and you will find that its not perfect.

The following paragraph is somewhat a spoiler if you know nothing about transformers.

Oh yes, i forgot to mention something. Since my friends decided to go into a whole discussion after the movie, i told them all something i found. The Decepticons ("bad guys") were all government vehicles (jets, helicopters, tanks, a POLICE CAR). Traces of symbolism that have been in Transformers all these years. That, or they wanted the bad guys to look cool and loaded with heavy artillery. You decide.

I suppose this post has spoilers or something so yeah. Plan accordingly.

Well, it's a Michael Bay movie... but if it's in the source material then it could be. I could see why that'd be.

I saw this movie and I'm gonna say that I'll be really really disappointed if this ends up being the MotM. It's shit blowing up. It has a few badass moments (Prime shoving a blade through a neck, the beginning scene) but it was really generic. There wasn't even enough robot vs robot going on, there was a lot of human vs robot. The beginning would make sense like that but the last fight should have been even more robot cuz I'm sure that's what the fanboys wanted to see.

I do give it props for a showdown between Megatron and Prime but it wasn't as epic as it shoulda been.

It was a funny movie, though, and it did entertain me, I just definitely don't second the 9/10.

Prime was kind of a bitch in the last fight. I know Megatron is huge but I mean, it's Prime. He should have put up a fight at least. He just spent 10 minutes getting thrown around.

I saw it yesterday, I think it was good. Constant action, really.

Just want to know that it was THE MOST COMMERCIALIZED MOVIE EVER.

Prepare to see brand names and logos everywhere.

Haha, was very consumerist. Oh well.
I did care about the autobots though, I forgot to mention that. The part with Bumblebee on the street was pretty moving. I also forgot to mention that the effects were nice but I knew they would be.

So, just to add onto what I said earlier, it's... a Transformers movie. I expected what I got. Which was cool.
