Iron Horse State Park is a rails-to-trails; it crosses
under Snoqualmie Pass, 2.6 miles through the mountain. From the center you can't see the light in either direction, and even on a hot summer day, when it's 90 degrees outside, it can be 40 in the tunnel. It's pretty incredible, and then going through the mountains, seeing the peaks overhead, and alpine lakes, it's gorgeous. Anyone visiting Seattle should make a stop here.
