I just read that nominations thread in the movie club and noticed that two of you already tried nominating this movie...seriously? or are you nominating this as a joke? is there anyone who honestly thinks that movie has a shot in hell of being the least bit relevant and/or funny? that is a piece of shit, i don't even have to see it to know that. any movie that sells itself to you by saying "from the guys who brought you..." is going to suck ass. I'm not in Movie Club... but I agree. Meet the Spartans has/will have nothing for you people to discuss at all... 'OMG THAT PART WHERE THAT GUY PUSHED BRITTNEY OFF TEH CLIFF WAZ SO FUNNEH!@!@!!@!ONE1!@!!' 'OMG I TOTALLY AGREE AND I LOVED THAT PART WHERE THAT PERSON DID THAT!!@!" |

Well we can talk about every movie that they made fun of. I think we should have lots of discussion with Meet The Spartans.

Well, that's the beauty of the nominations thread. It doesn't mean that that's what we'll be discussing, just means it will be on the ballot. It'll only be one of five or six from that list which will be voted upon. So I'd suggest nominating the movies you want to talk about, if you haven't already done so.

I'm not in the club, nor do I really care to be. I just noticed that first two responses wanted to nominated that, and that is probably the worst movie made this year. A movie club should focus on movies that are entertaining but at the same time mean something, push boundaries, make people re-evaluate things. That movie and the many other comparable things like it just turn people into zombies. OOo..Britney dumb, me laugh now.

Kind of a coincidence, but I made a post in the movie club that I was retracting my nomination for Meet the Spartans (this was before I read this thread, actually). I don't agree with Hatchet about it going to suck. Yeah, it's not a movie with any real meaning, but I think it is going to be pretty funny.

It's just another in the "Scary Movie" genre. Which is fine, because I think those movies are moderately successful, and I think this one gets enough play off of 300 to be a box-office success. By no means a smash hit, but a success.
