There really isn't that much on television that interests me, so I don't own one. Haven't since I was 18. But there are a few shows ( Family Guy, South Park, The Boondocks, Daily Show and Colbert Report ) I still love. I watch a lot of this on DVD, but sometimes it can be hard to find the patience to wait for them to come out.
You can watch most of Comedy Central's programming on their web site, and it's even got less commercials than the normal version. It used to be when people start talking about something ( say, The Office ) you could head to Google Video and YouTube and check it out. Now those services are turning into the same thing with different skins, and they've been ordered to remove 100,000 videos. Probably this is why YouTube is starting to share revenue with people who upload videos ( popular ones, anyway ) - they need content.
I found another site,
GUBA - Enjoy, upload, and share free videos. Download hit movies and television shows., that's ... shall we say ... less stringent when it comes to copyright. And I've been finding a lot of interesting documentaries there.
Probably the next thing is to get a digital projector.
