I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am a LOST addict. I noticed this board is highly lacking in the LOST information, so I thought I would start a discussion. The 4th season of ABC’s LOST kicked off last week and once again the show was riddled with questions with out answers and cleverly hidden Easter Eggs. If you haven’t watched the show, or don’t want to know about the hidden Easter Eggs, then you might want to quit reading, otherwise enjoy, and I hope you guys will let me know if I missed anything, or have any interesting theories.

In all previous episodes of LOST the opening scene is focused tightly in on an eye, and when we find out whose eye it is, we know who the episode would be centered around. Season 4 started off a little differently. They showed tropical looking fruit piled up, very convincingly implying that this was an island scene. Suddenly a Camaro bursts through the fruit to crash land in the middle of a “fire sale” at a car dealership. Hurley, our lucky lotto winner steps out of the car and tries to run off, but let’s face it, this is Hurley we’re talking about, and though he is one of my favorite characters, he does more waddling than running. Anyway, I’m off topic, which I tend to do easily when talking about LOST. The Camaro he is driving belongs to his father, we learned this in an earlier episode.

The 4th season premier of ABCs LOST held many more Easter Eggs for the masses to run wild with. In the flash forwards there were many throwbacks to our mysterious islands. There was a chalkboard in the hospital Hurley is staying in. On the chalkboard is a drawing of an island with what looks to be a shark, or at least a very large fish with many teeth. Could this be a clue to how the Oceanic 6 got off the island? There was also a fish on Charlie’s tee shirt when he speaks with Hurley.

Speaking of Charlie, when Hurley was hallucinating in the police station and sees Charlie swimming towards him written on Charlie’s hand, in the same way “Not Penny’s Boat” was written, was “They need you.” And while we are at the police station, they did actually let us in on the fact that the officer was Ana Lucia’s partner, which I am surprised at, but does any one remember that we have seen him before?

I want to go back to the hospital Hurley is in for a minute, I’m just all over the place aren’t I! Hurley was working on a picture, did anyone else think it looked suspiciously like the Arctic Station Desmond’s Penny is actually at? With the fish it is also a throwback to the island I am sure, but I find it more interesting that Hurley would know where Penny was.

LOST threw in another name for us to analyze to pieces too. Matthew Abbaddon. He was the creepy guy that came to see Hurley in the hospital offering him a better place to stay with an ocean view. Sounds suspiciously like taking him back to the island to me. Anyway, the Hebrew translation of Abbaddon is “place of destruction” and Matthew means “gift of the Lord.” Contradictory terms? Well yeah, the writers would want to tell us anything straight out. I would love to get feedback on what others think this could mean!!!

A couple of other Easter Eggs…

When Jack visited Hurley and played baseball with him, he was wearing the same tie that his father was wearing when Jack saw him on the island.

This may just be a fluke, but during the basketball scene, as Jack is leaving you can see a head pop up behind the basketball hoop and quickly go back down. So either they missed that during editing, which isn’t likely with LOST, but I guess can always happen, or there was someone spying on the conversation.

And the last and biggest Easter Egg, Who was sitting in Jacobs chair? Any guesses? I know. Oh all right, you talked me into it. It is Jack’s dad, Christian Shephard(who also happens to be Claire’s dad). While yes it was mostly just a shadow, those with HDTV were able to get very clear screen caps. They prove it undeniably. This opens a whole new can of worms! Is Christian Jacob? Whose eye popped up at the window when Hurley looked in, Locke, Jacob, an unknown? If Christian isn’t Jacob, then where is Jacob? And since Hurley can both see and hear “Jacob” or Christian or whoever he is, does that mean that Hurley is more special than both Locke and Ben combined?

So many questions! I don’t sleep Thursday nights after LOST comes on. I lie awake all night thinking about what I missed, or how something fits into the puzzle. I even made sure that I don't have to work on Thursday nights! I am truly addicted to this show! I was going crazy while it was on break, and lowered myself to joining all the conspiracy theory jackpots. I would hang my head in shame if I wasn’t so darn excited about this week's episode!

well i have not seen that show. but i always see and hear that in the commercial in my local cable channel. i really not have the chance to see it.

okay i didn't read the full post thanks for the heads up warning i don't want to know anything about the forth season i been watching all the last seasons with my wife we are on season three right now, and i'm addicted however it seems to be a tad bit repeditive at times... with all the flashbacks and stuff that we have already seen once... however i do keep in mind that this was originally on tv and people that missed an episode need to be braught back up to date i just thinkt his should have been left out on the dvd version were you typically watch episodes back to back. what i do like is that it jumps around from character to character on different episodes so if you like to just watch the doc and kate and you miss next weeks episode more than likely you didn't miss anything on the doc and kate... but ya im addicted and evangeline lilly has to be the hottest chick on two legs in awhile.

I used to watch a show called Lost. Is it the one where they are on a Island? If that is correct. It is not a ABC show. It's probably on ABC but it's not exclusive to ABC.

Anyways I thought that show stopped ages ago?

So I am guessing that this is the same Lost. It was huge here, always on advertisments. I guess in the UK it must of died down or something. I will have to check out the episodes. I liked the old ones.
