I prefer the 16:9 widescreen to the 4:3 conventional monitors for several reasons. They allow for high definition, wider webpages (thus more content), and they are the future.

Sorry for the double post, I just got my monitor today (earlier than I thought) and I now know why widescreen is better, I will never go back to 4.9, ever.

Which monitor did you get, CD? The one I use is Newegg.com - Open Box: SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1(DC 3000:1) and I really like it.

thanks, I was going to get a bigger one but then I would have to get another desk, I have a desk that has shelfs over the part where the monitor goes and it would be snugg, didn't want to take the chance.

The only widescreen display I have is the 16:10 on my laptop...14.1" 1280x800 Ultrabright/dark (its really dark on its lowest setting)

then all the others I have are all 4:3's...1024x768's and 1280x1024 (which is a 4:4)
