every come across that the update for a program just truly killed the program... i used to use a variation of this website but it was archive.com i think but this one is old-versions.net were they keep all the old versions of programs... so if some idiot programmer makes the program just not usuable in your eyes.. or shootes quantity over quality you can always go back

ya i think they are available for download, but i'd say if the program had to be purchased u may need ur purchase code or keygen to use them not sure... never tried that.

I agree old versions are better. However how long are they better for? When something new comes out. Usually there are still bugs and problems. Look XP still owns Vista for an example.

What I hate is when they offer a nice software for free.... my pc crashes and I need a new copy of the software... go to their website to download it but find out its no longer free.... that really sucks.

Sometimes the updates / upgrades are not good.
I have a Windows 98 computer. As you already know about the support no longer available by Microsoft. I think it may be a good thing. I am hearing around the www horror stories about WinVista. I decided to keep mind in top top shape as much as I can. After Microsoft Win98 Update ended(along with other updates),I decided not to search for third party sites.I just let it go.

I sometimes do a restoration when my OS slows. I do not go on any sites to redownload Win98 downloads or what is left of this OS online.
My Pc has been smooth running for a long time.
I do appreciate the old-versions.net mentioned. I will check it out to see how the land lays.
