Downloading Stuff!

This is a discussion on Downloading Stuff! within the Computers & Electronics forums, part of the General Chat category; I usally buy stuff, but I download movies. I use bittorrent....

I am still using good old dail up.

So if I wish to download. I will get out a good book along with some refreshments and relax.
Honestly it depends on how long or how large is the file.Years ago it was slow.I did not like the surprised disconnects.I did not like seeing the file 3/4ths of the way finished and a pop up appears saying"unable to download the file" and the reasons may follow.I love it when you see those papers still flying across from the atlas to your folder and in reality, the downloading has lready stalled.

I still have my Windows 98 computer.As you know by this date, the downloads for this OS is just about zero.Any downloads for this OS is " what you see is what you get" third party sites.Well now it is probably six party sites...lol.

I do miss some of the downloading such as critical updates.I will never experience the updates for the latest OSs unless purchasing a new Pc.Of course it's just down the road.
