never... it takes less energy in the long run to leave it on all the time than it does to turn it off and on... secondly even though the computer i have now is pretty fast i wouldn't want to wait the little time for it to boot, 3rdly computers as running windows 2000 and up, really don't need to restart that often unless asked. 4th when i first got into computer they always said not to turn it off and on cause you can potentially wear out the button on the front. or some people just turn the monitor off instead of running a screen saver this too can wear that button out. so i levae everything running except my tv... wii runs 24/7 all the computers in the house run 24/7.

my computers are only off for about a week or so every year, cus when I go away on vacation for a while I shut them all down, but since I know people are using my webserver everyday now, ill probably leave that on 24/7 now, as I used to shut it down when I went on vacation

Usually just leave it on. It uses so little energy when it goes to energy saving mode, it doesn't really matter. Just easier to leave it on.

The reason that I turn mine off is because my computers are in the room where I sleep, and I like it quiet.

Mine can be pretty loud at times, so I understand. I think I need to replace a fan or something because its usually not that loud.

sometimes the wires that power the fan can somehow be vibrating off of them may want ot check that out and put some tape or padding around them.. on my old computer the wire would actuallyg et hung up in the fan and make an aweful noise...
