So I am in the process of determining how much money I need to start saving in order to purchase my new gaming rig. I have gotten advice from several people about budget. When I ask about price, it varies between $1000 and $1500. What is your opinion on how much I should spend?

I am planning on buying a new monitor, keyboard, and mouse considering I need the present ones for the computer I am on now.

It really depends on if you are going to go with a computer company like Dell or go with just buying the parts and building it from a site like newegg.com.

If you have the experience where you feel comfortable building it yourself, you will save a lot of money.

Do you know how much processing power, memory, graphics, hdd, etc. you want?

I am planning on purchasing the computer in parts and building it myself. I plan on purchasing the rig in December when the new Nvidia 9800 comes out .... so the price of the 8800 GT drops. I plan on purchasing 2 gigs of ram, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz, and aim for a hard drive of atleast 500GB.

I plan on purchasing the computer via CyberPower, Inc - building the best Gaming PC is not only our profession, it is our obsession.

OK. Then plan on spending over $1000. It's going to be closer to $1500. I've never used that site before, but it looks like they have some good deals. Also look at newegg.com...I really like them and use them all the time.

Good luck.
