Default Burning dvds

When I burn dvds with Windows DVD Maker, the sides are cut off slightly. It's not a huge deal but it feels like I'm watching an incomplete movie and sometimes I miss some text or whatever.
What's wrong? What am I doing wroooooong?

No idea. When you watch the DVD's on the computer, are you missing the video? If so, its the file. If not, theres something wrong with the DVD-R's you purchased, the way the DVD player is reading burned DVD's, or your computer is burning them incorrectly.

See I was thinking that it's the dvds as well. Before I used to buy fujifilm dvds and it seemed to be fine, or maybe I just didn't notice it, but a while ago I bought a honkin' 50 pack of (I think) these presidents choice ones.

Well I hate to tell you to buy different ones, but that might be the problem if you didn't notice the problem before.

I think it's the software that's burning it, but I can't tell you what the problem is. try looking in the settings. It might just be the ratio you have it set to

Yeah maybe your tv is a different ratio than the dvd itself is.

I have never tried burning a DVD. I wouldn't see any point in burning them. Anyways aybe you could download a free DVD burner and see if that dose a better job.

okay... first off don't burn a dvd is windows dvd maker, get nero or something thats alot more adept to handling these sort of files... secondly the speed at which you are burning has alot to do with the outcome of the dvd... example i can burn a dvd at 16 x but it'll never play in a dvd player... if i burn it at 4 - 8x it'll play just fine alot of times your computer can't keep up with the burn speed. another thing in the options check and see if there is a option for cutting back a percentage of burnable edge on the dvd... some dvd players will not read if its burned all the way to the edge may need to back it off 5 to 10% to be fully viewable.

just a few suggestions.
